Russian baskets have an interesting feature. They are decorated with birch bark. Birch bark is the upper thin layer of birch wood. Birch bark is woven into the basket walls and covered the bottom of the products. It is a truly Russian trait of this craft.
On the Honey Savior, the Apple Savior and on the Nut Spas people go to church with baskets full of generous gifts of summer: honey, apples, nuts, fragrant pastries. The same basket will come in very handy at Easter when eggs must be sprinkled with holy water at churches.
